These guidelines propose recommendations to the following questions:
- When should pregnant women be tested for cervicovaginal infection?
- What samples to be taken from a pregnant woman to detect cervicovaginal bacterial infection? What to do in the event of cervicovaginal bacterial infection during a normal or problem pregnancy?
- Is there any benefit in routinely screening for group B streptococcus carriers during pregnancy and labour? If so, what method should be used, when and how?
- What intrapartum antibiotic prophylaxis to be prescribed to prevent neonatal infection caused by group B streptococcus?
- What tests should be carried out in the event of PROM?
- What procedure in the vent of infection during PROM?
