The founding principles of the participation of the public, patients and their associations at the HAS
- Health democracy, in its participatory and representative form
- Effective and facilitated cooperation that makes sense for public, patients and HAS members, who must be able to facilitate user participation
- Equal treatment of professionals and users participating in the HAS work
A pedagogical guide to better understand how to engage in the HAS work
This guide and the associated practical sheets explain to the public, patients and their associations how they can participate in the HAS work (social and clinical guidelines, health technology assessment, certification of hospitals for quality of care, etc…), depending on their degree of involvement and the working methods determined by the HAS.
A guide to help public and patients get involved
- by recognising their experiential knowledge;
- by facilitating their participation;
- by clarifying the status of users in their participation in the HAS work (status of expert or stakeholder) and the resulting implications;
- by describing the working methods of the HAS and their adaptations, if necessary, for people with disabilities or in vulnerable situations and the degree of commitment expected;
- by promoting the participation of public and patients in the work: financial compensation in particular ;
- by illustrating situations and possible adaptations with concrete examples.
